Martin Luther Scholarship

The Martin Luther Scholarship is intended to support students who are part of the St. John Lutheran Church community as they pursue their education.

Scholarship Qualifications

St. John Members

Students who are members of St. John Lutheran Church may qualify to apply for the Martin Luther Scholarship.

Applicants should demonstrate continued involvement in the life of the congregation, including regular worship attendance and participation in the church community.

Students Affiliated Through Parents or Grandparents

Non-member students affiliated with St. John Lutheran Church through their parents or grandparents may qualify to apply by:

    • Making a monetary contribution of record annually, using an envelope with the student’s name on it;
    • Participating in Holy Communion at St. John at least once each year; and
    • Being recorded as attending a worship service at St. John.

Other Students Affiliated with St. John

Other non-member students affiliated with St. John Lutheran Church may also qualify to apply by following the participation requirements above.

In addition, a student may be considered for a scholarship based on significant participation in a St. John church activity, including serving as an organizer or demonstrating leadership. Such an appointment may be made by a majority vote of the Martin Luther Scholarship Committee.

Support the Martin Luther Scholarship

The Martin Luther Scholarship is also an opportunity for members and friends of St. John to practice Christian giving by investing in the lives and futures of young people.

Gifts to the scholarship fund help provide financial assistance to students as they pursue higher education and prepare for the next chapter of their lives. Every gift, large or small, can be a meaningful way to encourage a young person and support their educational journey.

Consider making a gift to the Martin Luther Scholarship Fund as part of your Christian stewardship and generosity.
